Seohyun’s Musical is Finally Here!

Seohyun gave her first official performance as the female lead Heo Yeon Woo for The Moon that Embraces the Sun. While the international community of Seomates couldn’t all be there to support our princess, we were able to live vicariously though fansites and got a glimpse of our idol in her starring role.

The Moon That Embraces The Sun’ is my first musical.  I am preparing happily because I get to be in a really great production with amazing actors . . . I have always loved musicals.  That is why I’ve been wanting to be in a musical for a while; I am happy that my dream came true through ‘The Moon That Embraces The Sun.’

Ah! All we’ve ever wanted for Seohyun! A MUSICAL, one based on a historical drama at that. She’s getting great experience for both her acting and singing, and it’s a completely different environment than that of a TV drama, which let’s face it, can be kind of toxic. The musical schedule should be a little easier on her should the girls begin promotions soon, but it’ll still be tough to balance both, no doubt. Aww who am I kidding? I stan Wonder Woman. She can handle anything they throw her way 😉

So what’s my first impression of her performance? While I’m not an expert on musical acting, I’m impressed right off the bat because she surpassed my own standards. The exaggerated expressions and gestures work perfectly with a stage production, so no gripes with the acting. But her voice! It sounds so clear and beautiful! She’s definitely been putting in her time and it shows. I’m sure she’s learning even more about her vocal talents as she’s around a different set of talented people and perhaps this will translate into flawless SNSD lives? I can only hope! She never fails to surprise me with her dedication to improving her craft!

Oh yeaaaaah. This. The photo doesn’t do it justice. The kiss was short, sweet and adorable, mostly due to her character’s bashful reactions. And as always I thought SeoKyu’s voices blended together beautifully, but I’m also looking forward to her shows with the other male leads to see how well she acts without the comfort of SMTown oppa around. Not that I’m doubting her one bit, by the way 🙂

Well, Seomates, I have no complaints and am floating on Cloud 9 at the moment because all of our and Seohyun’s wishes have been coming true one by one. Who can doubt this woman’s determination at this point? Let’s stay supportive of our Queen and look forward to plenty more coming our way!
